About Ms. Woo and the Ms. Woo Collection

Miss Woo Ms. Woo was an entrepreneur and extraordinary woman born in China in the early 1920´s. She came to this country, became a Canadian citizen and developed trade relations between Canada and China when this was considered a rare accomplishment. She created and owned C. & C. Trading Co. Ltd. (Canada & China) and was an agent for Kelly Douglas & Co. Ltd. and other notable companies. Sing Tao beer was one of her many imports.

She claimed to be the daughter of a war lord and those who associated with her would agree that she had it in her blood. She was a woman who lived between two cultures traveling between the two in her hybrid fashions of polka dotted cheongsams.

Her taste was impeccable and she demanded the best. This is reflected in the beautiful dresses she had custom made. They are all silk lined and made of the finest imported fabrics fashionable of the day. Cashmere, shantung, linen, and guipure lace in the latest prints like gingham, paisley, and houndstooth to name just a few.

These dresses span the 50´s, 60´s and 70´s. All were professionally packed and stored most show no signs of wear. Like the late Ms. Woo they are all one of a kind.

About the Owner

My name is Natalie and I am a vintage clothing junkie. I have been addicted for over 25 years. It started out as an occasional Sunday afternoon at the flea market with my Mom. I was about 10 then and the term vintage clothing didn´t really exist yet, but I knew what I liked. By the time I was 12, I was using my allowance to shop at the "Sally Ann" for hipster jeans, and 50´s sun dresses, though I had no idea they were vintage. I just liked how I looked in them. I was hooked on the attention I got, as well as the thrill of the hunt. It started with these few items but soon I was accessorizing; with hats, belts, and jewelry. By the time I was 18 I had started borrowing from the men´s department a vest here and a scarf there. To supplement my habit I got a job at a vintage clothing store. That´s when things started to get out of hand. My passion for vintage fashion did not end with clothes though - no - it expanded to table clothes, curtains, and dishes etc. Eventually I spent all of my extra time and money hunting for fabulous vintage scores.

Fast forward 15 years. I now have lots of baggage. In fact, I have lots of purses, cocktail dresses, hawaiian wear, western shirts, deadstock denim, beaded cardigans, hand painted ties, shoes, house wares and more. That´s why I started Woo Vintage Clothing. So I can share my wares with my fellow afflicted, and to those who are new to the virtues of vintage.
